CMA Request for Annual Applications and Nominations for Councils and Committees

The California Medical Association (CMA) Board of Trustees, via its Committee on Nominations, is seeking recommendations for member physicians who are interested in and willing to serve on its standing Councils and Subcommittees for 2023-2024. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023.

All current appointments expire at the conclusion of the CMA House of Delegates in October 2023. New appointments will begin their terms at that time, with the new terms expiring at the conclusion of the 2024 House of Delegates.

Councils and committees meet as needed, with up to four (4) meetings per year via teleconference and potentially one (1) in-person meeting.

Please note that current members who are eligible for reappointment must submit an application for the 2023-2024 term. Even if you previously submitted an application and there are no changes, you must complete the online form. This form includes optional, but requested, information regarding diversity and demographics, per Board action.

Due to this requested personal demographic information, applicants are encouraged to fill out their own forms; however, applications submitted by a third party are also acceptable.

In developing nominations, CMA urges special consideration for recruiting the talent and experience of your younger colleagues, as well as ethnic and women physicians, who will bring new perspectives to the Association’s policy-developing committees.

Instructions for nominations/applications:

• Please verify the applicant’s willingness to serve, if selected, prior to submitting the application.
• All endorsements, if secured, must be stated explicitly, either in the application form or via email to nominations@cmadocs.org.
• A candidate may only apply for three (3) Councils and/or Subcommittees. (Note: You may see a warning on the website once you have selected all three, but you will still be able to continue with the submission.)
